Farmers in regions with eruptive climate conditions are adopting pre-monsoon dry sowing as an eco-friendly and sustainable farming approach. Using primary survey data collected by the Institute for Development Studies Andhra Pradesh, the adoption rate, costs, benefi ts, technical effi ciency, and recommendations for scaling up PMDS farming are examined. Targeted interventions and support to overcome obstacles and promote widespread adoption are necessary as this farming approach holds great potential for sustainable and resilient agriculture in regions that face climate variability.
